Everyone should have the opportunity to access and take part in the arts and creative activities
All arts for everyone
We are committed to breaking down the barriers to opportunity
We challenge unequal access to arts and cultural education
Driven by a desire to bring accessible arts to our community
Arts Let Loose is a social enterprise that was born in Salford in 2018.
We started out as a community group that was created as a direct response to the lack of accessible creative activities in our locality. We believe everyone should have the opportunity to access and take part in the arts and creative activities.
Driven by a desire to bring accessible arts to our neighbourhood we began volunteering locally and facilitated free creative activities for children and their families. We popped up in parks, local shopping centres, public spaces and even supermarkets.
We spoke with the community, we asked what they wanted, needed and were interested in doing.
We knew what they wanted and how to facilitate it, but there was no suitable venue.
Two problems, one solution, we needed our own space.
Arts Let Loose became a community interest company and with the help of lots of local organisations undertook the mammoth task of converting an empty retail space on Swinton Square into The Unit.
Arts Let Loose is a not-for-profit organisation. It was set up for the sole purpose of benefiting the community, not just to obtain funding.
The individuals who are responsible for Arts Let Loose do not benefit from profits.
All profits are used to benefit the community that the organisation was set up to serve.
